One of Metro Manila’s most awaited hotels has finally posted a target opening date: sometime in the first quarter of 2017.

Grand Hyatt Manila, which carries Hyatt Hotel Corp.’s premium brand for major cities and capitals, is in the final works towards opening on the top 25 floors of the tallest building in the Philippines — the MetroBank Financial Center, according to its website.

Grand Hyatt promises a full view of the metropolis from Bonifacio Global City. Initially set to open sometime in 2015, the launch of the hotel has been moved beyond the opening of rivals like Shangri-La at The Fort and Ascott BGC betwen 2015 and 2016.

According to Hyatt Hotel Corp.’s classification, Grand Hyatt lies along the same level of premium brands as Hyatt Regency and Hyatt. But Grand Hyatt has great promises of providing a taste of the Manila “La Dolce Vida.”

With 461 guestrooms, Hyatt says all rooms are “complete with floor-to-ceiling windows offering unobstructed panoramic views of the Makati skyline or Manila Bay.” The hotel will also feature three restaurants and a grand ballroom.
